In this course there is an introductory lesson, followed by 3 full lessons complete with tutorials, matching podcasts and worksheets. There is also a bonus guest interview with an expert on enhancing the user experience. 


3.0 Introduction to Delivery Skills

Why bother with this course? Learn why it's not just about having a killer personality when it comes to delivering a presentation that knocks your audience's socks off, and see what happens when one or more of the 3 core characteristics of a good presentation aren't quite up to scratch. 


3.1 Structuring your presentation

In this lesson you will learn how to structure a presentation for maximum audience engagement.


It's not just about having an introduction and a conclusion, it's about setting up the learning experience so your clients are engaged, inspired and motivated to get to the end of your presentation - and a lot of that, is not about whether you're a born entertainer... 


In fact, changing up the structure, can help you avoid telling your clients things they already know, wasting their time and generally making them wonder why they're even working with you. Even with exactly the same content, the way you structure the lead in and the wrap up can have completely the opposite effect on your clients.


3.2 Engaging visual aids

In this lesson you will learn how to create visual aids that enhance and help you while you're presenting, not distract or detract from the message you're trying to get across to your audience.


Heard of Death by PowerPoint? Been bored out of your mind or confused to WaggaWagga and back thanks to slides that were a mess, full of way too much information or an exact copy of what the presenter was saying to you? You don't need to be that presenter. Join me in saving the world from more pointless torture!


3.3 Delivery skills

In this lesson, you will learn how to rate and improve your delivery skills, whether you're presenting online or face to face. 


There are three main components of delivering a killer presentation, and here's a hint - it has nothing to do with whether you're a born entertainer. What's more important - your content or your confidence with speaking to a group? If you've got great content (but not a lot of speaking confidence), you'll end up sounding like a boring lecturer. If you've got great speaking confidence but you're not really sure about your content, you'll come across as an entertainer (who doesn't really know what they're talking about). Finding that sweet spot and building rapport with your audience is the key, and this lesson will give you all the tips on how to go about it.


 3.4 Guest expert interview with Jasmine Andrews

BONUS! I asked Jasmine to talk with us about supporting the learner experience through good information and document design. There's nothing worse than having great content, but being turned off by the way it's presented - which is all too often the case in the online world!


Her background in Digital Strategy, Training Development, Technical Writing and as a Content Specialist, lends itself perfectly to helping us gain a better understanding of how to create worksheets, booklets and course webpages that are easy to navigate, interpret and ultimately learn from.
